The wonderful magnolias that I saw yesterday in full bloom and the smell was amazing. I think they look just as beautiful when their petal have dropped off

I love this photo of my beautiful late mother, she was about 16 years old here. We all miss her very much. I have this photo on my study wall along with later ones of her.

Lots of colour

You just can't beat bright colours to help with the winter blues. To say I love bright and zingy colours would be an understatement, but strange as it may sound I also love pastels and gentle colours too.  I have all shades of white on my walls at home, I even  call it the 'white house' jokingly because I have lost my daredevil approach to decorating that I had when I was younger. That's a shame really, as I was quite adventurous with colour in the home, but now I go for shades of white (mostly) on the walls and inject colour in other ways via personal things and touches about the home. here are a few of my favourite colours around the house. Sometimes taking photo's about the place makes one realise that  we probably take all our treasured things for granted as we see them so often, but through a camera lens they seem special again.

Happiness is a Surprise Package

 It's always lovely to recieve a package, but when the contents are a surprise from a dear blogger friend it's a 'Happiness Is'  moment and it made my day. Thank you Pam. x

And sealed with a Cath Kidston 'Cowboy' seal

Inside the package was a lovely little purse sized notebook, a pattern for some fabric storage pots complete with instructions to make them. and some lovely pieces of fabrics which will come in very handy indeed.

Mr Mustard, Violet and Doris
